Private Experience: Embark on a serene journey down the French Broad River with your private rafting trip. Ideal for families or groups seeking a peaceful escape, this experience ensures exclusivity and personalized attention throughout your adventure. Your day begins at our comfortable Outpost, where you’ll meet your guide and prepare for the trip.

*Pricing for this trip is by boat since this is a private trip

Meeting and Transportation: Upon arrival at our Outpost, please check in at least 15 minutes before your departure time. Here, you’ll receive a brief orientation and safety rundown. We provide all necessary equipment and transportation to the river’s launch point. After your tranquil float, our service includes a return ride from the takeout back to the Outpost, allowing you to relax and reflect on your memorable day on the water.

Parking: All parking is free at our conveniently located Outpost.

Waivers: All participants must sign a waiver to join the trip. A link to our electronic waivers are sent out in your booking confirmation email. All waivers must be signed prior to arrival.

No prior rafting experience is necessary. This trip is suitable for beginners and is guided by our expert staff who will provide all the instructions you need for a safe and fun outing.

The river is home to a variety of wildlife, including Great Blue Herons, beavers, deer, bears, river otters, ducks, Canadian geese, bald eagles, turtles, and a variety of songbirds. Wildlife sightings, while common, cannot be guaranteed.

Safety is our top priority. All guests are equipped with life jackets and briefed on safety procedures before the trip. Our guides are trained in first aid and river rescue techniques to ensure everyone’s safety throughout the journey.

We monitor weather conditions closely and will contact you in advance if adjustments need to be made due to weather concerns. In case of light rain, the trip usually proceeds, but it may be rescheduled in the event of severe weather.

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled trip for a full refund.

If you cancel within 48 hours, we are unable to provide a refund — however, we will issue a non-expiring gift certificate that can be used toward any Asheville Adventure Company activity.

All participants must be at least 4 years old to join this trip. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Yes! We do not provide snacks or drinks, so we recommend bringing your own. Feel free to pack a small cooler with beverages and snacks to enjoy during the trip. Please help us keep the river clean by carrying out all trash.

Yes, each raft is accompanied by a knowledgeable and experienced guide who will navigate the river, share interesting facts about the area, and ensure your safety throughout the trip.

Our rafts can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people, plus the guide. This ensures everyone has enough space to enjoy the trip safely and comfortably.

There are no restroom facilities available on the river, so we recommend using the bathroom at our Outpost before departure. Please plan accordingly.

Yes, but please understand that this is at your own risk. This is a calm water trip, so there won’t be excessive splashing. However, accidents do happen and we are not liable to any damage to your personal belongings.

While no specific physical conditioning is required, participants should be comfortable being in water and able to perform basic paddling. The calm nature of the water makes this trip suitable for nearly all fitness levels.
