When you’re planning a Scout trip, you’re not just filling a schedule: you’re creating an experience that builds something. River skills, teamwork, a little courage. Asheville Adventure Company has worked with Scout troops on the French Broad River, and we know what matters to leaders: safe, well-organized trips that support your goals and give every Scout something to carry home beyond a memory.
Our river trips can support outdoor and water-based advancement goals. We’ll help you choose the right experience based on your Scouts’ ages, abilities, and what you’re working toward; and we’ll match the adventure to the group, not the other way around.
Tubing is a great entry point for younger Scouts or mixed-age troops: easy to manage, fun for everyone, and a genuine introduction to moving water.
French Broad Section 9 Whitewater Rafting is the right call for older, more capable Scouts looking for a real challenge. Class II-III rapids, certified guides, Swiftwater Rescue trained. A trip they’ll talk about at every campfire for the next year.
Kayaking by the Biltmore is a self-guided paddle that builds independent water navigation skills; a great choice for advancement-focused outings.
Have questions about which trip fits your troop’s advancement goals? Reach out. We’ll help you figure out what makes sense.
Scout group pricing is based on activity type, troop size, and date. Groups of 10 or more qualify for group discounts. All guided trips are led by certified guides with Swiftwater Rescue Training, and we’ll match your troop to the right river section based on ages and skill levels.
Our Outpost is centrally located in Asheville with easy parking and a shuttle that handles transportation to and from the river; no logistics headaches for the leader who’s already managing everything else.
