What should we wear for rafting or tubing?

We recommend wearing quick-dry clothing, such as polyester or nylon. Avoid cotton as it stays wet and can make you cold. Secure footwear like water shoes or sandals with a heel strap are required; no flip-flops.

What happens if it rains?

Trips typically run rain or shine. Rafting and tubing are water activities, so you're going to get wet anyway! However, in the event of severe weather or unsafe river levels, we will contact you to reschedule or provide a refund.

Is there an age or weight limit?

For most French Broad River trips, children must be at least 4 years old and weigh 40+ lbs to fit into our standard PFDs safely. Weight limits vary by boat type, typically up to 250-300 lbs per person.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance, especially during weekends and peak summer months, as our tours and bus rentals often sell out completely.

Are dogs allowed on the river?

Dogs are welcome on our self-guided tubing and kayaking trips! We do ask that they are well-behaved and that you bring a life jacket for them if they are not strong swimmers.
