Job Title: Van & 14 Person Bus Driver

Brief Job Description: Asheville Adventure Company is seeking enthusiastic and friendly staff to join our crew as a driver, shuttling customers to and from our various river locations. Come and enjoy spending your day in a fun environment, working outside along the French Broad River, all while playing an essential part in ensuring all guests have an enjoyable and memorable outdoor adventure experience.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time options available, Seasonal (late March – late October).

Scheduling: Weekend and holiday availability necessary. Holidays within our seasonal operation period include Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Flexible scheduling available with advance notice. We encourage our staff to take time off during the summer to keep them energized and refreshed when they’re on the job! 

Pay: Starting at $15/ hour 

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Safely shuttle customers, guides, guests, and all paddle equipment (including rafts/kayaks) to and from our  put in/take out of the French Broad River 
  • Meet and greet guides and guests in a friendly manner 
  • Help load and unload rafts/kayaks as needed 
  • Maintain fuel level of bus 
  • Ensure bus remains in clean condition 
  • Report any bus operating or equipment deficiencies to River Manager ● Drive 12 or 14 passenger vans for shuttle as needed 

Required Experience: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 

Training: Training on routes, expectations, policies, procedures, and safety is provided.

Essential Job Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Ability to identify needs, take action, and solve problems in a quick manner
  • Team player and safety conscious by following all traffic laws and maintaining order
  • Efficient time management, organizational and multitasking skills 
  • Culturally aware and sensitive
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds on an ongoing and daily basis is preferred 
  • Confident driving a bus up to 100 miles per day with a variety of road and

weather conditions
