Do You Need Kayaking Experience?
No. This float is self-guided, and it’s built for people who have never touched a paddle before. You get a safety briefing before launch, then the pace is yours to set. Beginners do fine on this river. Experienced paddlers like it too, mostly because it’s a break from working hard on the water.
The minimum age is 12. The difficulty rating is easy. If you can sit in a kayak and paddle every so often, you’re ready to go.

What to Bring
Pack light. Bring a towel for after, sunscreen, and water. This stretch of river offers almost no shade, so sunscreen matters more here than most people assume. Bring enough drinking water too. The float runs long, and running dry halfway through isn’t a great afternoon. A snack helps on a four hour trip, though it’s optional.
Leave pets at home. Animals aren’t allowed on this trip.
